2/20 - The Shoulder Tap

. Posted in 2013 Lenten Readings

When I first transferred to Immanuel thirteen years age, I would get occasional taps on my shoulder from fellow members returning from communion. Sometimes it would be an old friend, like Pastor Jackson. Mostly it was new friends from Immanuel: men, and some women. The taps continued over the years and gave me great encouragement. The tappers had no way of knowing that sometimes my week included an employment crisis. Recently, one tapper glanced at the granddaughters and then tapped my shoulder. I am guessing that he approves of my role modeling. Call me tappy but this is worthy.
